I know, I really don’t post much here any more. There are some reasons for it. First, of course, there’s work. I’ve been too busy to actually think of posting here. Secondly, facebook became much more convenient to just do quick updates. Also, my SLR broke 2 months ago and since I like to illustrate my stories with pictures, that’s more or less a no go now. Anyhow, I took the company camera with me to shoot some pics in Serfaus, Tyrol, where I spent really nice days to say good bye to the winter season of 2008/2009. Check out the pictures here. My company “Strukt” brought its multitouch table, called “Struktable” to the 2009 TOCA ME design conference in Munich. People were invited to play around with 5 simple demo applications the entire evening. We gathered a lot of responses and are already working on implementing the feedback in our next applications. The software used to write the apps is VVVV (vvvv.org). The hardware we developed over the past months with the help of Ben Albrecht, Alex Dejaco and Johann Wegscheider. Also a big shout out to Thomas Pintaric for his great work on the blob detection. http://strukt.com/2009/struktable/ We kindly thank Ritornell for providing the soundtrack for this demoreel. If you think of a winter vacation it mainly is about snowboarding or skiing. But there is time that you also spend off the slopes, and here is just a little peak into what we are doing here in Mittersill to kill the time when it’s dark outside. DRUM SESSIONS / LESSONS
COOKING SESSIONS
DINING OUT (ALL YOU CAN EAT KASNOCKN!!!)

And there were 4 more of those pans, yum! UNWRAPPING GIFTS

The second day started off with a bit stronger winds and a lot more people in line for tickets and lifts. But since we planned to hit the powder again anyways, that didn’t concern us too much. I was happy to try the skis of Andreas’ brother Phil and they worked a lot better in powder than mine did yesterday. Thanks to the guidance of Stefan and tips from Flo, who himself was going on skis aswell and has a lot more experience in powder conditions, I managed to improve my skills to a level that I can actually go through most of the powder areas my snowboarding friends are. Taking on this new challange in skiing definitely makes the sport attractive again and I can honestly say, I do enjoy it a lot. Check out the pictures, most of them were taken by Stefan and Andreas’ brother Michi - Thanks Guys!

I’m in Mittersill in Salzburg for a couple of days and enjoy the hospitality of Andreas’ family. We, that is Andreas, Stefan, Gregor, Dragana and Andreas’ brothers, hit the nice slopes (and powder areas in between the slopes) for the next week or so. The first day is over and it was pretty awesome, although temperatures of 5 degrees Fahrenheit (or -15 degrees centigrade) made it quite chilly on the lifts. I still have to become friend with the powder, it is indeed a bit easier to enjoy it on a snowboard. But i won’t give up right away.

On my trip to New York I of course had my trusty little Lomo LC-A in my bag at all times. I played around with some double exposures and also for the fun of it used an AGFA precisa 100 ISO slide film that I had cross-processed to have my memories tinted in funky colors. Here is my selection of the best shots. Enjoy!

I met up with my buddy Michi aka Mike to hang out in his hood in Brooklyn. We were just basically catching up, hanging out, drinking coffee, browsing thrift stores, walking around and later on caught a movie and dinner with friends from MY old neighborhood. Good Times!

Happy Birthday Aaron! In a new chapter of my “New New York” experience I went to have Dim Sum with Aaron and his family and friends to celebrate his birthday. I don’t exactly know what I was eating all the time, but it was delicious and I was stuffed for sure. After the lunch the group split but I stuck around with Aaron, Kaori and Nile to get some coffee and check out some new kicks in Soho.
